So a little about me – I’m a semi retired left brained civil engineer with a love of technology, innovation and for fixing or making things.
What can be better than taking a piece of wood and creating something functional or beautiful from it? Working with wood gives me that buzz and it was, for many years, just a hobby which ended up littering the house with bowls of different woods, shapes and sizes. ‘Enough is enough’ said the missus and so I sold few bowls and other pieces on Etsy and the like while others became presents.
The art of wood turning has been around for hundreds of years, whereas CNC machines have only been around for just over 50 years. So, having an interest in technology I became the proud owner of an Ooznest Workbee CNC – UK designed and supplied! This opens up a completely new world for creativity – from dishes, to sculptures, to carving house name plaques and so much more.
